  • Fog Rolls in at Odiorne

    Fog Rolls in at Odiorne

A gull flies in the distance just above the ocean waters as an early morning fog rolls into Odiorne Point on a calm summer morning. Sea fog forms when warm moist air flows over relatively cooler water which saturates it to the point that water droplets form. This section of the coast has amazing rock formations and is a delight for exploring tide pools.

  • Odiorne Point Sunrise

    Odiorne Point Sunrise

This image was captured at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye, New Hampshire. It was early in the morning on a warm June day. I was walking on the sandy beach area in the northern area of the park looking out toward Little Harbor as the sun was rising. Trees in silhouette usually add interest to early morning scenes – this one didn’t disappoint.

Early morning light at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye, New Hampshire. This side of the park borders Little Harbor where the calm waters have allowed a sandy beach to form along the rocky coastline.

    Sailing Off Rye

Two sailboats race each other off the Rye, New Hampshire coast. Sails taut, hulls heeling in the steady winds found in these waters. Cold ocean spray splashing off the bow.
