This image of the Castle in the Clouds shows the attractive country cottage style of this small mansion overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee in the lakes region of New Hampshire. Built by Tom Plant in 1913, Lucknow Estate is now a popular tourist site that offers fascinating tours, plentiful hiking, and unparalleled views of the lake.

Colorful Impatiens flowers take center stage in the Liberty Garden, part of Prescott Park in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. A gnarly tree provides an almost sinister look behind the cheery floral display. Brick walks and picket fences fade in the distance.
A framed print of this image is on display this September (2025) at the New Hampshire Art Association just up State Street a short distance from this location.
Water wells up from a basin to pour into a stone-lined pool at Fuller Gardens, a turn-of-the-century estate garden in North Hampton, New Hampshire. A statue of a woman kneels beside the bowl to partake of the cool, refreshing waters. This unique property includes formal rose gardens, Japanese gardens, and greenhouses to stroll through. A scenic ocean-front walkway beckons a block away with rocky coastline on one side and elegant estates on the other.
