Photograph – New Castle Sunrise

New Castle Sunrise

One of my favorite subjects is the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse. This image, enhanced with artistic filters, was taken one early summer morning from Great Island Common park in New Castle, New Hampshire. The tree is nicely silhouetted in front of the colorful dawn sky. I waited for the light at the top of the lighthouse to rotate towards me when I took the picture. This image is on display at the SAA Gallery in Exeter, NH this month of May as part of our “Sky Images” theme show.

Photograph – View from Cathedral Ledge

View from Cathedral Ledge

This image, enhanced with artistic filters, was taken from the top of Cathedral Ledge in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Puffy cumulus clouds pepper the sky casting huge shadows on the surrounding mountains and green valley below. A road leads to the top of this state park area where you can walk around short trails with amazing vistas. This is a very popular site for rock climbers all year-round. A framed copy of this image is on exhibit at the NHAA Art Gallery during the month of May as part of our member show.

Also see my post on nearby Diana’s Baths, a beautiful series of river cascades where I’ve taken some images.
